Navigating the App

Cherp uses a sidebar for navigation on desktop and a bottom bar on mobile. Here’s how to find your way around.

The Sidebar (Desktop)

The sidebar is always visible on the left side of the screen. It’s organized into four labeled sections:

Work — Your day-to-day tools

  • Dashboard — High-level overview of project health and business metrics
  • Focus — Your daily landing page for priorities and getting work done
  • Projects — Browse, create, and manage client engagements
  • Workload — Plan your week, assign work, and track team capacity
  • Time — Log hours against projects and tasks
  • Schedule — Gantt chart view across all active projects (managers only)
  • Recurring — Set up repeating weekly assignments (managers only)

People — Manage relationships

  • Clients — Companies and organizations you work with
  • Contacts — Individual people connected to clients and projects
  • Team — Manage team members, roles, and capacity (managers only)
  • Leave — Record and track time off (managers only)

Intel — Competitive research

  • Hotels — Hotel brand intelligence database
  • Venues — Restaurant, bar, and F&B concept research
  • Brands — Brand design intelligence (colors, logos, fonts)
  • Manufacturers — Product and component sourcing intelligence

Money — Financial management

  • Forecast — 12-month revenue projection (managers and accounting)
  • Prospects — Sales pipeline and deal tracking (managers only)
  • Retainers — Recurring client engagement management (managers only)
  • Payroll Hours — Hours reporting for payroll (managers and accounting)
  • Invoices — Invoice management synced from QuickBooks (managers and accounting)
  • My Invoices — Submit and track your invoices (contractors only)

At the bottom of the sidebar, you’ll see your name and role, which also serves as a link to Settings.

Active Page Indicator

The page you’re currently on is highlighted in the sidebar with a vertical accent bar on the left edge. This makes it easy to see where you are at a glance.

Mobile Navigation

On smaller screens, the sidebar collapses. You’ll see:

  • A hamburger menu to open the full navigation
  • A bottom navigation bar with quick access to the most-used pages

Customizing the Sidebar

You can change the sidebar’s color in Settings > Appearance. Choose from Cooper House’s brand palette — the text color automatically adjusts for readability on dark or light backgrounds.

Personal Mode

Admins and project managers can toggle Personal Mode to simplify the sidebar. When enabled, it hides management-specific pages (Schedule, Prospects, Clients, Contacts) and defaults the Projects list to show only your projects. This is useful when you want to focus on your own work without the admin overhead.

Toggle it from the Settings page.
