Clients

Where to find it: Sidebar > People > Clients

Clients are the companies and organizations Cooper House works with. A client is always an organization, not a person — the people at those companies are tracked as Contacts.

This page is hidden from contractors and accounting users.

The Client List

When you open the Clients page, you see a searchable list of all clients. Type in the search bar to filter by company name.

Click any client row to open their detail page.

Primary Contact Info

You can also add a primary contact directly on the client record:

  • Contact Name
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Address

This is a quick reference for the main point of contact. For tracking multiple people at a client, use Contact Associations.

The Client Detail Page

Click into any client to see their full profile. The detail page shows:

  • Client information — Display name, legal name, billing terms, and primary contact details
  • Linked projects — Every project associated with this client, with status and key dates
  • Contact associations — All the people connected to this client and their roles

Linking Contacts to a Client

Contacts are linked to clients through contact associations. Each association includes a role that describes the relationship. You can link the same contact to multiple clients with different roles.

Available Roles

RoleWhen to Use It
PrimaryThe main day-to-day point of contact
BillingThe person who handles invoices and payments
ReferralSomeone who referred this client to Cooper House
AttendeeA person who attends meetings but isn’t a decision-maker
Decision MakerThe person who signs off on approvals
ContractorAn external contractor working on this client’s projects
ConsultantAn outside consultant involved with this client

To add a contact association, go to the client detail page and add a contact with their role. If the person doesn’t exist yet, create them first on the Contacts page.
