Personal Mode
Where to find it: Settings page
Personal Mode simplifies the Cherp interface by hiding the admin and management features you don’t need when you’re just trying to get your own work done.
Personal Mode is only available to Admins and PMs. Employees and contractors already see a simplified view by default.
What Personal Mode Hides
When you turn on Personal Mode, the following changes take effect:
| Area | What Changes |
|---|---|
| Sidebar | Schedule, Prospects, Clients, and Contacts are hidden |
| Projects | Defaults to “My Projects” instead of “All Projects” |
| Focus | The Team Overview section is hidden — you just see your own priorities |
| Time | The user selector is hidden (you only see your own time), and the Backfill link is removed |
Everything else stays the same. You can still access all other pages and features.
When to Use It
Personal Mode is great for:
- Focused work sessions — When you want to see your tasks and projects without the management overhead
- Daily time tracking — A cleaner view for logging hours without the distraction of team-wide data
- Decluttering — If you don’t need pipeline management or client directories during your work day
Turning It On and Off
Go to the Settings page and toggle Personal Mode on or off. The change takes effect immediately.
Personal Mode is saved in your browser, so it survives page refreshes. If you close and reopen Cherp, your Personal Mode setting will still be where you left it.
To go back to the full admin view, just toggle it off from Settings.
What It Doesn’t Hide
Personal Mode is about reducing sidebar clutter, not restricting access. You can still:
- Open any project by URL or search
- See financial data on project detail pages
- Access the Workload Planner and Dashboard
- Use all Intel features
It’s a preference, not a permission change.
