Brands
Where to find it: Sidebar > Intel > Brands
The Brands section captures brand design intelligence — the visual identity elements that Cooper House studies and creates. Each brand profile stores color palettes, logos, typography, brand files, and narrative strategy.
Record Types
| Type | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Portal | Cooper House managed brand — brands you’re creating or managing |
| Reference | Observed/comparator brand — brands you’re researching for competitive analysis |
What a Brand Profile Contains
- Identity basics — Name, tagline, description, notes
- Brand strategy — Mission, vision, voice, personality, positioning
- Color palette — Actual hex, Pantone, RGB, and CMYK values
- Logos — Multiple variants (primary, secondary, icon, wordmark, monochrome, reversed)
- Typography — Font families with weight, style, usage, and source
- Files — Guidelines, presentations, photography, templates
- Associations — Key parties (designer, strategist, client lead, photographer)
- Linked properties — Hotels and venues connected to this brand
Browsing Brands
The brand list supports filtering by:
- Record type (portal, reference)
- Status (draft, active, archived)
- Chain scale
- Favorites
Favorites appear first, then Cooper House brands, then everything else.
Creating a Brand
Click New Brand to create a brand profile. Fill in the basics (name, record type) and save. Then add colors, logos, fonts, and other details from the detail page.
AI Enrichment
If the brand has a website URL, you can run AI Enrichment to automatically extract:
- Colors from CSS (prioritizing brand colors over incidental ones)
- Fonts from Google Fonts links and CSS
- Logos from various sources (og:image, favicons, SVGs)
- Brand narrative text (tagline, description, mission, vision)
Enrichment is additive — it never overwrites existing data. See Brand Detail Page for more.
