Contacts
Where to find it: Sidebar > People > Contacts
Contacts are individual people connected to your clients and projects. A contact is always a person, not a company — the organizations are tracked as Clients.
This page is hidden from contractors and accounting users.
The Contact List
The Contacts page shows all contacts in a searchable list. Type in the search bar to find someone by name.
Click any contact to open their detail page.
Creating a Contact
Click New Contact to add a person. Enter their name, email, phone, and any other relevant details.
Contacts on their own are just people in a directory. They become useful when you link them to clients and projects through contact associations.
Editing a Contact
Open any contact’s detail page to update their information. Changes are saved immediately.
Contact Associations
A contact association links a person to a client or project and gives them a role. This is how Cherp tracks who’s who across your business relationships.
One person can be linked to multiple clients and multiple projects, each with a different role. For example, someone might be a Decision Maker at one client and a Referral for another.
Available Roles
| Role | When to Use It |
|---|---|
| Primary | The main day-to-day point of contact |
| Billing | The person who handles invoices and payments |
| Referral | Someone who referred the client or project to Cooper House |
| Attendee | A person who attends meetings but isn’t a decision-maker |
| Decision Maker | The person who signs off on approvals |
| Contractor | An external contractor involved with this client or project |
| Consultant | An outside consultant involved with this client or project |
How to Link a Contact
You can create contact associations from two places:
- From the client detail page — Add a contact to a specific client with a role
- From the contact detail page — Link the contact to a client or project with a role
Either way works. Use whichever page you’re already on.
