Creating a Project

Where to find it: Sidebar > Work > Projects > New Project button

Managers only can create projects.

Step by Step

  1. Navigate to Projects and click New Project
  2. Enter a Project Title — use the name you and the client use for this engagement
  3. Select or create a Client:
    • Start typing the client name
    • If the client exists, select it from the suggestions
    • If no match exists, the system creates a new client with that name when you save
  4. Choose a Status:
    • Proposal — for deals still being negotiated
    • Active — for contracted, in-progress work
  5. For Proposal status, you’ll see additional fields:
    • Stage — Discovery, Follow Up, Negotiation, Won, Lost
    • Likelihood % — Probability for weighted revenue forecasting
    • Last Contact — Date of your last client interaction
  6. Optionally set Budget, Start Date, and Target End Date
  7. Click Create Project

After saving, you’ll be taken to the Project Detail Page where you can add deliverables, tasks, and more.

Tips

  • Project type (Classic, Keystone, Retainer, etc.) is set from the project detail page, not the creation form
  • For hospitality projects, create a hotel profile in Hotels Intel and link it to the project
  • If you create a new client on the fly, go back to Clients later to add billing terms and contact details
  • Budget is auto-calculated from deliverables for non-retainer projects, so you can leave it blank initially
