Deliverables
Where to find it: Project Detail Page > Deliverables tab
Deliverables (also called “line items” in the system) are the billable pieces of work within a project. A branding project might have deliverables like “Brand Strategy,” “Logo Design,” and “Brand Guidelines.”
The Deliverables List
The Deliverables tab shows all deliverables for the project in a sortable list with:
- Name and description
- Status badge
- Amount (price)
- Completion percentage
- Key dates
Managers can reorder deliverables via drag-and-drop and add new deliverables.
Creating a Deliverable
Click Add Deliverable and choose:
- From a template — Select a pre-built template. The system creates task lists with proportional hour allocations. See Using Templates.
- From scratch — Enter a name, description, and amount manually. Create task lists separately.
New deliverables start in Draft status (or Contracted if the project is already contracted).
The Status Lifecycle
Deliverables move through nine statuses:
| Status | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Draft | Just created, not yet scoped |
| Ready to Quote | Scope defined, ready for pricing |
| Quoted | Price sent to client |
| Contracted | Client has agreed — price is now locked |
| In Progress | Work has started |
| Complete | Work is done |
| Billed | Invoice sent |
| Paid | Payment received |
| Closed | Fully wrapped up |
See Deliverable Lifecycle for the full reference.
Price locking: Once a deliverable reaches Contracted status, the price is locked to prevent accidental changes to agreed scope.
The General Deliverable
Every project should have a General deliverable with a $0 amount. This is a catch-all for time and tasks that don’t belong to a specific deliverable (meetings, admin, coordination).
Task Lists and Tasks
Each deliverable can have one or more task lists, and each task list contains tasks. This is where actual work gets tracked:
Project > Deliverable > Task List > Task > Time Entry
When you log time, you select a task — which connects the time back to the deliverable and project for billing purposes.
Tips
- Employees and contractors can view deliverables but cannot create, edit, or reorder them
- If you need to add optional scope items, see Add Alternates
- The completion percentage is calculated from the deliverable’s checklist items
