Key Differences

Contractors have the most restricted access:

  • Can only see projects they’ve been assigned to
  • Cannot see Clients, Contacts, or most financial data
  • Have a dedicated My Invoices page for submitting their own invoices
  • Can access Intel (Hotels, Venues, Brands) for research purposes

Accounting role is designed for financial-only access:

  • Can see Projects and Time (for financial context)
  • Can see Forecast, Invoices, and Payroll Hours
  • Cannot see Dashboard, Focus, Workload, or any People/Intel pages

Personal Mode (admins and PMs only):

  • Hides Schedule, Prospects, Clients, and Contacts from the sidebar
  • Defaults Projects to “My Projects” view
  • Useful when you want to focus on your own work
  • Toggle it in Settings

Data Permissions

Beyond sidebar visibility, roles also control what you can do with data:

  • Editing projects — Managers and admins can edit all projects; employees can view but not edit
  • Managing deliverables — Managers can create, reorder, and delete deliverables; employees can view
  • Team management — Only managers and admins can add/edit team members
  • Financial data — Budget details, invoice amounts, and profitability data require manager or accounting access
  • Settings — Company-wide settings (templates, imports, company config) require manager access
